Roofing Systems
PVC.
The specialist for chemical and grease exposure.
Heat-welded membrane built specifically for the most demanding commercial environments. Where TPO and EPDM struggle around grease, oil, or chemicals, PVC was engineered for it.
Best For
Restaurants, food and beverage facilities, manufacturing, healthcare, labs, cold storage, and any building with chemical, grease, or oil exposure on the roof.
Service Life
20-30 years.
Premium PVC roofs in Europe have been performing for fifty years and counting. In commercial buildings here, properly installed PVC routinely runs the upper end of that range with proper maintenance.
How It Works
Engineered for the harshest rooftop environments.
PVC is a heat-welded membrane built specifically for the most demanding commercial environments. Where TPO and EPDM struggle around grease, oil, or chemicals, PVC was engineered for it: restaurant rooftops with grease exhaust, manufacturing facilities with chemical exposure, cold storage with refrigerant condensation. PVC also has built-in fire resistance, which matters for buildings where code or insurance demands it.
Operational Profile
Cooling savings of TPO with chemical resistance no other single-ply matches.
Moderate maintenance, minimal install disruption, low foot-traffic tolerance, high energy performance. The reflective white surface delivers cooling savings comparable to TPO, with chemical resistance no other single-ply matches.
What You Should Know
PVC and asphalt don’t mix.
PVC doesn’t get along with asphalt. If your existing roof is asphalt-based, the PVC has to be properly isolated from it during installation, or the new membrane breaks down early. This is a detail that separates contractors who know PVC from contractors who don’t.
Where It Falls Short
Cost.
PVC typically prices 20–40% above comparable TPO. For a low-exposure office or warehouse with no chemical risk on the roof, PVC is more roof than the building needs. TPO will deliver comparable service life for less.
